About us

“Svijet osiguranja” (The World of Insurance) is the first and presently the only expert and popular, market-oriented, independent magazine for law, economics and practice in insurance and reinsurance; this is the reason why it co-operates on equal terms with all insurance companies in Croatia and the region.

The magazine is published by a private family company TECTUS d.o.o. which has established itself in the financial, packaging, graphical and insurance industry. Beside “Svijet osiguranja”, we publish expert and popular magazines "Ambalaža", "CroPrint" and "Zaštita".

”Svijet osiguranja” has been coming out for ten years, during which it has become a magazine you can trust owing to its serious editorial politics. Articles and market analyses published in “Svijet osiguranja” can be referred to in other print media in Croatia and the region. Our texts are of high quality, informative and instructive; their authors are the most famous journalists and experts from the area of finances.

Beside the magazine as the basis of activities in the media, five years ago we started a TV show of the same name, three years ago on the radio as well. The TV and radio shows have the purpose of educating and informing the broadest circle of our viewers and listeners. In a simple and interesting way we explain the importance of insurance for the viewers and listeners personally and for the entire economy, by talking to the guests in the studio and answering viewers’ direct questions.

Next to general insurance topics, “Svijet osiguranja” also follows the problems of pension and medical insurance and pension and investment funds. We offer many scientific and expert sections, current news from insurance and reinsurance markets in Croatia and abroad, interviews with ministers and other government officials, managing directors and other insurance experts, legal advice; we also answer readers’ questions.

Direct communication with the readers of the magazine and visitors to the web site, mostly via phone and e-mail, is invaluable to us as well as to them. We receive viewer questions daily and distribute them to the best legal experts in the given area, which means helping those who have exhausted all other means of finding solutions to their problems.

Information technology is indispensable in insurance industry, therefore it is a topic in almost every issue, and the magazine organizes the conference “Information and Communications Technology and Insurance”, traditionally held this year, for the seventh time, at the Plitvice lakes (ICTI 2006). We also organize round tables and seminars on current issues of our profession.

The magazine is the media sponsor of the Days of Croatian Insurance 2006, organized by the Insurers Association of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and this year we are the official organizer of the “Sarajevo Meeting of Insurers and Reinsurers” (SorS 2006).

The magazine “Svijet osiguranja” has a regional character, comes out eight times a year, its press run is 3000 copies, and it is being distributed to the Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegrian, Croatian, Macedonian, Slovenian and Serbian insurance market.
